Make your own BABY WIPES using doTERRA Essential Oils

DIY doTERRA Baby Wipes

When is the last time you looked at the ingredients list for your baby wipes – probably never right?  One’s logic or intuition would tell us that baby wipes must be safe, after all they were manufactured for a baby’s delicate skin.  Well, the reality is, that’s not the case.  In fact, here is the common ingredient list for the basic store-bought baby wipes:

– Phenoxyethanol
– Sodium Benzoate
– Glycerin, Carbomer
– Fragrance
– Coco-Glucoside
– Glyceryl Oleate
– Lauryl Glucoside
– Polyglyceryl-2 Dipolyhydroxystearate
– p-Anisic Acid
– Citric Acid
– Sodium Hydroxide
– Glyceryl Polyacrylate

Here’s an easy, quick way to make your own baby wipes, or hand & face wipes, to use as you need using doTERRA pure essential oils.  I used lavender oil and melaluca but you can experiment with your own preference of oils.  Just keep in mind to use oils that are safe for the skin areas you will be applying the wipes too, and some oils are just not suitable at all for delicate topical applications.  I definitely wanted to use melaluca for 2 reasons:  (1) so it would keep my wipes fresh and free of bacteria while it sites in the container, and (2) so it would gently disinfect the area of the skin I was applying the wipes to.  Some of the obvious reasons I used lavender oil for my wipes:  soothes and softens the skin, natural germ-destroying, calming and pleasurable aroma, and naturally moisturizes the skin.  Hope you enjoy this DIY recipe as much as I do!

3.  Place half paper towel roll into your container.  Pour half of mixture over the roll, and then turn over the roll, and pour remaining mixture over the other side of the roll.  You can also drizzle any remaining liquid over the top and bottom of the roll, to ensure full coverage of the paper towels.

4.  Cover the container with its lid, and allow to sit for 10 minutes.  Flip the container upside down and let sit for an additional 10 minutes.
